God’s supernatural peace showed up like a warm blanket around my soul.
When the Phone Rings with Bad News
There are moments in life when everything should fall apart — and yet, somehow, you don’t.
That’s exactly what happened to me the day my husband called from Texas to say he thought he was having a heart attack. He was driving himself to the hospital, and I stayed on the phone with him the whole time until he was wheeled into the ER and couldn’t talk anymore.
Staying Calm in the Chaos
In that moment, I should’ve fallen apart. But I didn’t. God’s supernatural peace showed up like a warm blanket around my soul. I calmly booked a flight for the afternoon, knowing I couldn’t get there immediately. And instead of being paralyzed by worry, I went to my granddaughter’s middle school moving-up ceremony.
Only God can do that.
God Had Already Prepared Me
Looking back, I realize God had been preparing me in ways I didn’t even notice. Years of work travel taught me how to navigate airports, make quick decisions, and stay calm under pressure. But even more than that — years of walking with Him prepared my heart to receive His peace when I needed it most.
It’s easy to forget that peace isn’t the absence of problems — it’s the presence of God.
A Reminder for You Today
He doesn’t promise we won’t face emergencies, heartbreaks, or seasons of waiting. But He does promise that His peace will guard our hearts and minds. And I’m living proof of that.
If you’re facing your own storm right now — whether it’s a medical scare, a family crisis, or just the unknown — I want to encourage you. Ask Him for peace. Not the kind the world offers, but the kind that surpasses understanding.
Final Thoughts: Trust the Promise
He is near to the brokenhearted. He is faithful to prepare us. And He is always, always with us.
🕊️ Take what you need. Leave the rest. And be blessed.
