Our first camping trip took place only 40 minutes or so from our home. We stayed at Don Laine in Palmerton, PA. It was beautiful!

Zoom in. We are up there. LOL!
It was fall, so it was not crowded and we went during the week. We were almost all alone on that hill. It was perfect. It gave us the opportunity just to try out the trailer and get into our own “camping” groove. Wait, it’s not really camping, it’s glamping, right?
Don Laine Campground was the perfect place to try out our new glamper. What is a glamper, you ask? Here is the definition per google: a form of camping involving accommodation and facilities more luxurious than those associated with traditional camping.
To me, it’s camping and I am sticking with it.
I was a little nervous, but grateful that we had no one around. Together Shawn and I had the opportunity to “test” the waters. I drove separately. I am not keen on riding with him and just in case I needed to run home and get a “real” shower.
We have since joined Thousand Trails, so unless we hit the lottery or something, we won’t be going back to Don Laine. Not that it wasn’t a great experience, because we camp free now with our Thousand Trails membership.
Be sure to check out some of my other blog posts in S & K On The Road where I talk about some of the other campsites we have visited.
