Hey there, friends!
If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I’m always looking for ways to simplify life at home.
I love routines that bring peace instead of pressure, and that’s exactly what I’ve found with the FlyLady Cleaning System.
Now, I’ll be honest—I don’t follow it exactly the way she does. But I was inspired by her idea of zones, and I created a version that fits my home and lifestyle.
I’ve also started a playlist on my YouTube channel where I share how I started and what each day looks like so far. It’s been motivating to see how a few simple changes can make a big difference.
What Is the FlyLady Zone Cleaning System?
The FlyLady system, created by Marla Cilley, is all about taking small, consistent steps toward maintaining your home. Instead of spending an entire day cleaning, you divide your home into “zones” and give each one focused attention throughout the week.
This approach keeps housework manageable and prevents that feeling of being overwhelmed.
You can work in short bursts—FlyLady suggests 15 minutes at a time—so cleaning doesn’t take over your entire day.
How I Broke My Home into Six Zones
I adjusted the system to fit my home and created six zones, one for each day of the week.

Tips for Getting Started
If you want to try zone cleaning, here are a few tips to make it work for you:
- Walk through your home and define your zones. Make them manageable.
- Create a short list of tasks for each area.
- Set a timer for 15 minutes. Do what you can, then stop.
- Give yourself grace. It’s okay if you miss a day—just pick up where you left off.
- Keep it flexible. Adjust your zones as life changes.
Final Thoughts
You don’t need to spend hours cleaning to have a tidy, peaceful home. The FlyLady-inspired system helps you stay consistent without feeling overwhelmed. Just take it one small step—or one zone—at a time.
Have a Wonderful Day and God Bless You.
