I came across a YouTuber named Gabe Bult who shared 50 minimalist rules, but I want to highlight the ones that truly resonated with me. It’s amazing to see a younger person with such wisdom—perhaps he’s been learning from someone like me! Either way, I believe that if he continues on this path, he’ll be incredibly successful, both financially and in life.

The Two-Day Rule

The first rule that stood out is the Two-Day Rule. This principle is all about forming good habits. If you’re trying to create a consistent habit—like walking for 30 minutes daily—missing one day is okay, but missing two days in a row puts the habit at risk. It’s a great way to hold yourself accountable and stay on track!

The House on Fire Rule

This rule suggests that we only use about 20% of what we own regularly. I see this clearly in my closet—I wear about a third of my clothing. With my new laundry routine, I notice that I keep reaching for the same items, which tells me I could let go of the rest. The House on Fire Rule helps you identify what you truly use and what you can declutter.

Become Unavailable

This one may not apply as much to my life now, but I know it will help many busy people. The idea is to block out a couple of hours where you’re completely unavailable—no distractions, no interruptions—so you can focus on important tasks. In today’s world, where we’re pulled in so many directions, this is a game-changer!

The Home Rule

This is one of my absolute favorites! Everything in your home should have a home. When each item has a designated place, it’s easier to keep things organized and clutter-free. It also helps everyone in the house know where things belong—so no more excuses for not tidying up!

Saying Yes Means Saying No

I’ve talked about this before, and it’s so important: every time we say yes to something, we’re saying no to something else. Many of us feel overwhelmed because we struggle to say no. Being mindful of our commitments helps us prioritize what truly matters.

These are just a few of the minimalist principles from Gabe Bult that really spoke to me. I’ll definitely keep watching his content and sharing what I learn. If you’re interested, I encourage you to check out his channel for more great ideas!
