There’s something I’ve been learning during this season that I never expected to hold so tightly to: attitude is everything.

Gratitude is good medicine. Attitude is everything. And God gets the glory— even in the hardest seasons.

As many of you know, my daughter is walking through a difficult cancer journey. It’s scary. It’s overwhelming. And yet, right in the middle of all the hard things, I’ve seen such joy, humor, and gratitude radiate from her life.

She said to me not long ago, “Who wants to walk around depressed? That only makes it worse.” And I’ve seen the truth in that firsthand. She’s not in denial—she’s choosing not to let fear and sadness win. That kind of attitude? It’s powerful. It shifts the atmosphere.

“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” — Proverbs 17:22

Acceptance is another beautiful piece of this puzzle.
No, she didn’t ask for this diagnosis. But she has embraced the path before her with grace. She’s doing the hard things, the uncomfortable things, and she’s letting God walk her through it.

“Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.” — Romans 5:3-4

And oh, the gratitude.
She’s not taking anything for granted. From every meal dropped off to every prayer whispered over her life, she is filled with thankfulness. And I’ve learned that gratitude really is a kind of healing. It turns our eyes from what’s lacking to the God who is always providing.

We’ve been blown away by the support—through her GoFundMe, the Thirst fundraiser, the meal train, and even strangers who have become friends. It’s taken our breath away.

“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:18

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:19

We are all flawed. We all have our moments of weakness. And yet, God is showing up—over and over again—through the hearts of others. He is so faithful.

This journey isn’t easy, but it’s full of sacred moments. Moments where we feel God’s presence in the laughter. In the meals. In the support. In the surrender.

So if you’re walking through something hard right now, can I gently remind you of this?

👉 Your attitude can be an act of worship.
👉 Acceptance isn’t giving up—it’s trusting God to carry you.
👉 And gratitude? It’s the medicine that opens your eyes to God’s grace in the mess.

We give Him the glory for every single act of kindness, every answered prayer, and every day we wake up still breathing, still fighting, still hoping.

Thank you for loving us. Thank you for walking this road with us. And thank you, Jesus, for being near in the valley.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18
