I started a new journal. It is different from my other journals. This one is simple. It’s just daily entries of wisdom that I hope is read by my children and their families as well as by anyone else who may get their hands on them. Starting this journal is my way of leaving a legacy. If you are a grandmother, I hope to inspire you to start one of these, too!

I went to Amazon to find a nice blank, but lined journal because I am frugal and wanted to keep this simple. I picked these because the description said that they are easy to write in because they lay flat.

I also bought these pens, too. I thought I would add some color to make my entries look more appealing and using a pen that is easy to write with makes journaling more enjoyable.

What I hope to accomplish with journaling

I want to share truths about my faith, about God, about what He tells me in His Word

It is essential that we remember what God has done for us and share His commandments with others, as He has told us to do throughout the Old Testament.

Nowadays, we have His written Word to rely on, but sadly the truth is not always preached in churches. People simply don’t talk about God enough, and parents don’t teach their children about Him as He has instructed them to.

I hope that my loved ones see evidence of what God has done in my life and how getting to know Him has transformed me from the inside out. I hope they are encouraged by my journal entries and trust what I tell them about my relationship with God. I hope that they make the same decision I have made and accept Jesus as their personal Savior.

I will write things that I glean from my daily Bible study and as I listen to my favorite Bible teachers.

I am studying the Bible through Bible Study Fellowship and I also study through the Bible Recap.

With these detailed studies, I want to record all the snippets of wisdom. Many might not study the Bible as in-depth as I do, so I hope my little nuggets of wisdom will inspire them to know more.

I also listen to some good Bible teachers like Charles Stanley of In Touch Ministries and Nancy Wolgemuth from Revive Our Hearts. These Bible teachers have the knack for teaching God’s word in a practical way without compromising truth.

It is important for me that my loved ones hear the Truth

When I speak of Truth, I mean God’s Truth. I mean Biblical Truth. I mean the words that come from God. A truth that is not watered down by humans. The Bible talks about the end times and how people will yearn to hear only what their “itching ears” want to hear. But the truth is, they will not find true healing, peace, and contentment unless they are transformed by God’s Truth. He is our Creator. He knows what is good for us. His Word is nourishment for every part of us.

I will use my journal for my own reflection but most of all to leave for my loved ones to read well after I am in Heaven

Unless Jesus comes back soon, I may have some great-grandchildren that might not ever meet me. I hope that my loved ones will treasure these journals and all the nuggets of wisdom to share with even those I might not ever meet this side of Heaven. I want to share my faith. I want all my loved ones to meet me in Heaven someday. I hope that when they read my entries, they will seek to know their Father more. I will also use it to reflect on things. When we read over what we have written, we can get a glimpse of what was going on and even what we may have learned. We also can see how we have grown spiritually.

I HOPE I HAVE INSPIRED YOU

I hope I’ve inspired you to start journaling the nuggets of truth from God’s Word that you want to leave your loved ones. This is what legacy is all about. My Mom did it. I have so many little notes to go through. Sometimes it’s tough to read through them because it makes me miss her, but I’m so grateful that I have a part of her here with me now.
