As women—especially moms—our days are often jam-packed from sunrise to sundown. And if you’re like many of the young moms I talk to, you’ve probably said something like, “I just don’t have time to read anymore.”

Oh, friend, I get it. Between raising kids, managing a home, working (in or outside the home), and everything in between, who really has time to sit down with a book and a cup of tea?

But here’s something I want to remind you of: God didn’t just give us eyes to read—He also gave us ears to listen.

And that’s good news, because even if we can’t find the time to sit and read, we can still listen.

Listening While You Go

Some of my best “reading” actually happens when I’m not reading at all! I listen to books while I walk, clean, or drive. It’s become one of my favorite ways to learn and grow while still getting things done.

Now, you all know I love a good tech tip, and what I’m about to share has completely blown my mind…

Alexa Device

Did You Know Alexa Can Read Your Kindle Books?

Yes! If you have an Alexa-enabled device, like an Echo Dot or Echo Show, you can ask Alexa to read any book from your Kindle library out loud.

Just say:

“Alexa, read [book title] from Kindle.”

It’s really that easy!

I have an Echo Flex in my bathroom (they’ve discontinued it, but I’m so glad I grabbed one before they were gone!). I can be brushing my teeth or folding towels and still “read” a chapter or two.

Plus, if you have Apple CarPlay and the Alexa app on your iPhone, you can listen to your Kindle books right in the car. Commutes just got a whole lot more enjoyable!

A Bonus for Prime Members

If you have Amazon Prime, did you know it includes access to Prime Reading? You can borrow tons of Kindle books for free—just like a digital library. Download them to your Kindle app and start listening with Alexa or Siri.

Let Your Ears Feed Your Soul

So friend, don’t feel guilty if you haven’t picked up a physical book in a while. You’re still growing. You’re still learning. And you’re using what God gave you to do it—your ears.

Whether you’re folding laundry, pushing a stroller, or stuck in traffic, turn that time into soul-filling, story-loving, wisdom-gathering time.

You’ve got this. 💛
And I’ll be right here cheering you on (probably listening to a book while I do!).
