I’ve been carrying this question in my heart lately:

How do people get through life without God? Do they have any hope?

I don’t ask this with judgment. I ask it with honest curiosity and a heavy heart.

When I look back on the painful, uncertain seasons of my life—the kind that shake you to your core—I can’t imagine surviving them without my faith. The sudden death of my brother. The loss of my dad. Walking through the final years of my mom’s life as her caregiver and watching her slowly fade. My husband’s cancer diagnosis. His heart attacks. The emergency trip to Texas after one of them, not knowing what I was walking into. And now… my daughter’s battle with cancer.

These are the things that press you to your breaking point. And yet, in the middle of all of it, I’ve had something that’s held me together: Jesus.

I’ve had His presence. His promises. His peace.
I’ve had the assurance that even when life doesn’t make sense, God is still good.
Even when my heart is breaking, He is still near.

But I keep wondering—if I didn’t know Him… what then?

What do people believe happens after this life?
Is this all there is? Do they believe in nothingness? Do they believe everyone goes to Heaven?
And when hard times come—and they always do—where is their hope anchored?

Because “positive thoughts” and “good vibes” might carry you for a day or two… but they don’t sustain you when you’re sitting in a hospital room. They don’t bring peace when you’re facing death. They don’t offer comfort when your world is falling apart.

But God does.

He gives supernatural peace. He offers unshakable hope. He is our refuge, our strength, and our anchor in every storm. He reveals His heart to us through His Word—page after page filled with truth about who He is and how deeply He loves us.

Maybe that’s why I can’t imagine life without Him—because I know Him.
I know His character. I know His promises. I’ve lived them. I’ve leaned on them.
And I’ve found them to be true.

Even if—even if—I were wrong about all of it (and I don’t believe I am)… I’ve still lived a life filled with more peace, more purpose, and more joy than I ever would have without Him.

So today, I just want to gently ask:
Where is your hope?

If you’ve never placed your trust in the God who created you, who sees you, and who wants to walk with you through this messy life—I invite you to. Not in religion. But in relationship. In truth. In love. In grace.

And if you do know Him… hold on tight. Don’t take His presence for granted. Because this world is searching for what we already have. Let’s not keep it to ourselves.

Let’s talk about it:
Have you ever walked through something and realized it was God alone who carried you through? Share your story in the comments—I’d love to hear how He’s shown up for you.

🤍 With grace,
Kathy
