Site Three at Four Oaks RV Resort appeared rough but turned out to be a relaxing stay. We stayed an extra night!

Upon viewing these two images, I was inspired to write about our Four Oaks Resort stay in North Carolina. It is safe to say that this isn’t a resort. This is the kind of place where you just spend a night or so, and that is it.

When we decided to visit Four Oaks, we weren’t sure what to expect. We’ve noticed that descriptions of places like this tend to exaggerate a bit. However, since it is that kind of place to spend the night and the weather was perfect, we planned to find some hiking trails and try out some amazing BBQ. Four Oaks is an excellent place to relax and explore the nearby areas.

Four Oaks is right off a highway. It almost reminds me of an old mobile park. In between some of the travel trailers are some old run-down mobile homes. Our site was right in between two mobile homes that have been around for a while. It was not very inviting at first glance, but as you can see from the second picture, we made it look very inviting. I believe they had removed an old mobile home from this spot and created this RV site.

I learned something from this camping experience about the different styles of camping. There are overnight stays where you simply set up camp and leave the next day. There are also campgrounds where you can stay for longer periods, enjoy the amenities, and meet new people. Finally, some campsites are used as a base for sightseeing, attending concerts, or other events.

I find we have been ebbing and flowing into all the different styles and that is what makes it an adventure.

I am grateful for the downtime and the opportunity to sit in this cute little site.
