“Blessed are you when people hate you, when they have nothing to do with you and say bad things about you, and when they treat your name as something evil. They do all this because you are followers of the Son of Man.” Luke 6:22
It’s often observed that conversations about Jesus can lead to silence. Many find that ever since they dedicated their lives to Him and can’t help but speak of Him, their popularity may decline. This is a personal experience for some, and they accept it. Why? Because they feel blessed, as Jesus said, when they are disliked for their beliefs.
“You are blessed when they insult you and persecute you and falsely say every kind of evil against you because of me.”
Jesus knows all about persecution. I think that’s why He is encouraging us with these words.
Don’t be discouraged! He is okay with you! He is pleased with you! Blessed is not so much about having worldly things, it’s all about peace, contentment, and so much more. Tuck this verse away.
